ClarityRead is designed to keep page content, selections, preferences, saved reads, and reading stats local by default. This policy highlights what stays on your device, what is never collected by default, and how any future cloud feature would require clear opt-in consent.

ClarityRead does not send page content or user selections to any remote server by default. The summarizer and text-to-speech use only your browser’s built-in capabilities unless you explicitly enable an optional cloud feature.
chrome.storage.local.If optional cloud features are added in the future, they will be clearly marked in the UI and will only be used after explicit consent. ClarityRead will explain exactly what data is sent and to which host.
ClarityRead uses your browser’s built-in speech synthesis. No audio or text is sent to external services for text-to-speech unless you explicitly enable an optional cloud TTS feature.
Data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the extension. If an optional cloud feature is enabled, its retention policy will be described in the opt-in dialog.
I may update this policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent changes.
